About India60 Think Tank

Initial thoughts for formation of a think tank group in India.

“Be refined in our reactions, democratic in our thoughts, convincing in our argument, and precise and pleasing in our expression”

Organization:

  • Tank – responsible for data collection. This group will also handle the technical needs. {DiscussMembers}
  • Analyze – Analyze, visualize & report on data collected. This group will also handle design needs
  • Think – review analysis, identify problems, and think of solutions
  • Action – Act upon recommendations from the Think group.
  • Watchdog – Keep an eye on all the groups, make sure they are functioning and performing effectively. Identify problem areas in each group to help improve, advance, and evolve the groups. Other administrative needs are handled by this group.

How India60 will Operate:

  • India60 will be headed by one person
  • Each of the five groups will be headed by one person.
  • There will be a main core team in each group, consisting of individuals with long term commitment as well as the super talented and most passionate. This is to make sure each group functions all the time.
  • Each group will then consist of volunteers to contribute to the requirements and needs of the group. Groups will select individuals from their pool of volunteers into the core team as needed.
  • Start progressively. Pick simple issues first, and focus on getting results for actions, before taking on the next bigger issue.
  • Share everything with the world, be as open as possible.

To Do:

  • Define profile for each group
  • Number of people in core teams
  • Establish limits for number of volunteers
  • Select founding team consisting of 5 people – 1 head of India60 (will also head Watchdog group) + 4 group heads (Tank, Analyze, Think, and Action)
  • The founding group will have to function before core teams and volunteers can be established, and the process can be ironed out.
  • How do we go from an idea to reality?
