US power emission 16 times more than that of India

A comparison of per capita CO2 emissions by power plants, shows Australians as the worst (10 tonnes), while US has the overall highest total emissions at over 2.5 billion tonnes each year compared to Australia’s 205 million tonnes per year. Even though India is 4th in the list of total emissions (529 million tonnes) our per capita of 0.49 tonnes definitely makes us look very efficient.

ICICI fined Rs. 50 lakh

ICICI bank fined Rs. 50 lakh for using “goons” to recover loans. In one incident a consumer was brutally beaten up to recover a car.

Tom Friedman, thinks the world’s cheapest car, priced at Rs. 1 lakh, is a bad idea for an already gridlocked India. Instead he suggests that India not copy, rather innovate.

Labor Force Riots in Dubai

On October 28th thousands of expatriate workers in Dubai went on a two day strike, with the protest turning violent. In response Dubai to deport 4000 of the rioters. This might not have been the smartest solution to sensitive labor issues which are mostly ignored in Dubai. Dubai might be in for some major labor disputes if they continue to sideline the labor force.
